Can help prevent 40% of fires from starting and assists to give you the best possible warning of the other 60%.
Why should I upgrade my battery alarms to a Ceasefire Alarm?
About 40% of household fires start from unattended cooking; ie. a pot on the stove overheats, smokes and then ignites. Tests show the time between smoke and ignition is about seven minutes.
What is the Ceasefire Alarm?
The Ceasefire Alarm is a ‘Hazard Activated Power Isolator’ (HAPI). Hard wired smoke detectors are connected to an easy-to-use controller. When smoke is detected the system:
- Signals all the smoke detectors to sound their alarms
- Switches off power to the designated circuits, primarily the cooking or stove circuit, however it can protect any individual circuit.
How It Works

How the Controller Works
There are three simple control buttons on the Ceasefire Alarm Controller:
- Hush – This silences the alarms, and when pushed will silence for 3 minutes (if smoke is still detected after 30 seconds it will sound the alarm again)
- Reset – This button resets the system, restoring power to protected circuits
- Test – This button allows the owner to check that the system is connected and operating correctly. It cuts power to the protected circuits, sounds alarms and/or other detectors. Can also be used as a panic alarm.
Ceasefire Alarm Benefits
- The HAPI (Hazard Activated Power Isolator) will cut designated circuits when alarm is activated
- Reliable – The Ceasefire Alarm is mains powered and has a 72 hour backup battery which is trickled charged
- Fault-proofed – If there is a fault, alarms will sound (it won’t just stop working)
- Interconnected – All smoke detectors sound simultaneously
- Easy to use – No servicing required or regular replacement of batteries
- Central Controller – Easy to use with only three buttons
- Panic Alarm – Just press the test button to sound alarm
- Interfacing – Can be interfaced with other security and fire alarms systems and communications devices. Can easily be linked in with any alarm monitoring company
- Applications – For many building types; residential, commercial, apartments, retirement villages etc.
- Sprinkler Systems – Highly effective first step in preventing a significant number of sprinkler activations.
